Oman and Tanzania are actively seeking to enhance their trade relations and investment collaborations, aiming to forge stronger economic partnerships between the two nations. This initiative was marked by a recent visit from a delegation of Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion to Tanzania, where they engaged with Tanzanian government officials, economic institutions, and business leaders.

The discussions during these meetings centered around expanding economic ties, identifying lucrative investment opportunities, and fostering partnerships within the private sector. Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, the Undersecretary of the ministry for Investment Promotion, emphasized the importance Oman places on its economic relationship with Tanzania, recognizing the East African country as a significant partner with substantial investment potential.

Oman highlighted several advantageous factors that could benefit international investors, including its strategic geographical location, well-developed infrastructure, and attractive investment incentives like the Golden Residency Programme. These elements are seen as key to supporting sustainable international investments and long-term business partnerships.

The talks also explored avenues for Omani companies to increase their presence in African markets while simultaneously introducing Tanzanian businesses to opportunities within Oman. Both sides underscored the importance of improving communication between governmental bodies and private sector representatives to facilitate the development of joint projects.

The visit is part of a broader effort by Oman to expand its economic footprint in Africa and strengthen its already established ties with Tanzania. By pursuing these new opportunities, both countries aim to foster a mutually beneficial economic environment that can lead to increased trade and investment activities.
