Xiaomi is evolving at a rapid pace, transitioning from its roots as a smartphone manufacturer to becoming a formidable force in the wider technology sector. The company’s expansive vision, encapsulated in its “Human x Car x Home” strategy, aims to create a seamless, interconnected ecosystem that touches on various facets of everyday life, including domestic environments, transportation, and digital services.
Recently, Xiaomi made significant strides into the network-attached storage (NAS) market with the introduction of its Xiaomi Smart Storage device. This innovative product, available in 4TB, 8TB, and 16TB models, quickly captured consumer interest, garnering over 30,000 orders within the first hour of its crowdfunding campaign. Beyond simple storage capabilities, the device supports multi-device backups, remote file access, 4K media streaming, and AI-enhanced photo management, appealing to a tech-savvy customer base.
Over the years, Xiaomi has expanded its product line well beyond smartphones and televisions. The company now boasts a diverse range of offerings, including tablets, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, air purifiers, routers, smart home appliances, lighting products, gaming monitors, electric scooters, coffee machines, portable printers, and even electric vehicles. Central to this wide array of products is HyperOS, Xiaomi’s proprietary software platform that facilitates connectivity between home and vehicle devices, ensuring a user-friendly and integrated experience, while maintaining affordability.
Financially, Xiaomi’s strategic shift is paying dividends. The company reported impressive earnings for the first quarter of 2026, with revenue reaching 99.1 billion yuan and net income at 4.72 billion yuan. The entire financial year of 2025 saw Xiaomi achieving a record adjusted net profit of 39.2 billion yuan, underscoring its successful expansion and execution of its strategic goals.
In the electric vehicle sector, Xiaomi has also gained substantial traction, with 600,000 vehicles delivered since its entry into the market. The company projects vehicle deliveries to hit 550,000 units by the end of 2026. By integrating consumer electronics, smart-home devices, digital infrastructure, and electric vehicles, Xiaomi is positioning itself as a pioneering player in the global technology arena.
